‘Dubai mein nikah hoga’, Mufti Abdul Qawi revives Rakhi Sawant marriage claims

Controversial religious scholar Mufti Abdul Qawi has once again reignited speculation surrounding his proposed marriage to Indian television personality Rakhi Sawant, claiming that the wedding plans remain intact despite several hurdles.

During his appearance on ‘Discover Pakistan’, Mufti Abdul Qawi candidly spoke about the status of their alleged marriage plans, stating that only two major obstacles have delayed the union.

"The nikah has only been delayed for two reasons," he said. "Firstly, my mother objected. I belong to a respected family, and she had certain demands and concerns. Some relatives also intervened, saying Mufti Sahib is our nephew and should not go there. So, I stopped because of them."

Qawi further revealed that escalating tensions between Pakistan and India also played a role in postponing the wedding.

"Secondly, the regional situation became difficult due to war-like circumstances. But through your program, I want to share this good news that as soon as things improve, Mufti Sahib will be leaving. We are in contact, and the nikah will take place in Dubai. I cannot travel to India, she cannot easily come here, nor can she visit Pakistan, so why should our marriage become entangled in Pakistan-India matters?" he remarked.

The self-proclaimed wedding plans between Mufti Abdul Qawi and Rakhi Sawant have been making headlines for months. Earlier, Qawi publicly expressed his desire to marry Rakhi, claiming that discussions had taken place and that she had shown interest in embracing Islam. He even proposed changing her name to Rabia after marriage.

Rakhi Sawant, who has frequently made headlines for her personal life and public statements, has responded positively to Qawi's marriage proposals on several occasions, often playfully referring to him as "Mufti Ji." However, neither side has presented any concrete evidence suggesting that wedding arrangements are formally underway.

Mufti Abdul Qawi is no stranger to controversy. The religious scholar has remained in the spotlight over the years due to his association with the late social media personality Qandeel Baloch and his often-unconventional remarks on celebrities and public figures.
