The PTI government has made another attempt to woo its estranged members belonging to the Jehangir Khan Tareen group requesting them to not take any extreme step in a rash manner, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to details, Federal Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak contacted JKT’s leader Awn Chaudhry late last night. In their telephonic conversation, they held discussion on the issues that had made the JKT members part ways with the PTI.

The federal minister advised Awn Chaudhry to not make any rash decisions asking him to ‘put on hold important decisions’.

Khattak assured that he would soon apprise him about the development.

Awn Chaudhry confirmed that he was contacted by the defence minister.

Besides Khattak, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry also held a telephonic contact with Awn Chaudhry.

Tareen group shows concern over ‘govt-sponsored’ attack on Sindh House

Members of the Jahangir Khan Tareen (JKT) group, a group of dissidents within the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), have expressed their grave concern over the attack by the workers and two MNAs of the PTI on the Sindh House on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

In an important meeting in Lahore, they said the attack carried out by what they alleged ‘at the behest of the government’ was deplorable.

Members of the group discussed the overall political situation of the country, particularly the prospects of change of the Punjab chief minister (CM).

The group also discussed the contacts made by some members of the ruling party with them recently.

However, they left it to their leader Jahangir Khan Tareen to decide whether to meet with these people.

In a telephonic address to the group members, Tareen disclosed that there was going to be an important development in the country’s politics in coming days. He also counselled them to remain united.
