Karachi police torture kills rickshaw driver

A rickshaw driver Sunday died due to torture by police in the South District of Karachi.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the heirs of the deceased protested against the Karachi police torture and demanded authorities for providing justice to them.
As per the details, the deceased was taken into custody on suspicion of being involved in the robbery at a mobile phone shop in Clifton's Khayaban-e-Sahar.
Rickshaw driver Abdul Rashid was arrested by Karachi police from his residence at Qayyumabad last Monday and after brutal torture released two days ago. But due to heavy injuries, he couldn't survive and died on Sunday.
The deceased's wife and brother said that Abdul Rasheed was brutally tortured while in police custody. Abdul Rasheed was the father of three children.
According to SSP Investigation South, the robbers involved in the robbery of Rs10 million in a mobile phone shop in Khayaban Sahar used Abdul Rasheed's rickshaw to escape.
