FIA summons ex Chairman WAPDA General (r) Muzammil in Rs1454m corruption case

FIA’s anti-corruption circle Lahore region has summoned former Chairman WAPDA lieutenant general (r) Muzammil Hussain in Rs1454 million corruption case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to Federal Investigation Agency’s notice, former chairman WAPDA was asked to appear personally before FIA’s anti-corruption circle Lahore on March 22.

Lieutenant General (r) Muzammil Hussain was directed by FIA to clear his position with record and proofs. He is accused of giving undue favour to the contractor of Kyal Khar Hydropower Project.

According to notice, inquiry was registered against Muzammil Hussain on the complaint of Transparency International Pakistan. During his tenure as chairman, WAPDA faced over 1454 million rupees loss to the national exchequer.

In 2022, NAB also started probe against Muzamil Hussain on corruption charges.
