Islamabad United seal crushing win over Kings in PSL X encounter

Islamabad United crushed Karachi Kings by 79 runs in the 30th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday.

With this commanding victory, Islamabad United strengthened their claim for second place in the league standings. Batting first after losing the toss, Islamabad United posted a mammoth total of 251 runs for 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

In reply, Karachi Kings faltered under pressure, being bowled out for 172 in 18.1 overs, falling 80 runs short of the target.

Kings' captain David Warner tried to stabilize the innings with a 43-run knock, but wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals.

 Tim Seifert added 26, while Abbas Afridi provided a late blitz with 34 runs off 13 balls, which wasn’t enough to alter the outcome.

Islamabad United’s bowlers were clinical, led by skipper Shadab Khan, who claimed 4 wickets in a match-winning all-round performance.

Salman Irshad chipped in with 3 wickets, while Imad Wasim took 2 and Salman Agha added 1 to his name.

Batting first after being invited by Karachi Kings' captain David Warner, Islamabad United delivered a batting masterclass.

 Alex Hales and Sahibzada Farhan's brisk fifties helped Islamabad post a huge 251-run total against Karachi Kings.

A brilliant 153-run opening partnership between Alex Hales and Sahibzada Farhan laid the foundation for the record total in PSL.

James Vince, batting at number three, added further firepower with an explosive knock of 88 runs off just 35 deliveries.

Sahibzada Farhan contributed a solid 73 runs before getting dismissed.

Captain Shadab Khan scored 42 runs in the middle overs, ensuring that Islamabad maintained momentum throughout.

However, Rassie van der Dussen and Salman Agha had brief stays at the crease, scoring 1 and 7 runs respectively.

From the bowling side, Karachi Kings struggled to contain Islamabad’s aggressive batting.

Mir Hamza, Khushdil Shah, and Aamer Jamal managed to pick up one wicket each, but the overall bowling performance lacked the breakthroughs needed to halt Islamabad’s onslaught.
