Buying interest returns to Pakistan Stock Exchange
Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) bounced back sharply on Tuesday as the US-Iran escalation eased following US President Donald Trump’s decision to halt the planned attack on Iran, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During intraday trading, the PSX’s benchmark KSE-100 index gained 1,572.93 points or 0.96 percent to reach 163,377.95 points.
Buying interest was observed in key sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, and power generation. Index-heavy stocks, including ARL, HUBCO, MARI, OGDC, PPL, POL, MEBL, and UBL, traded in the green.
Earlier on Monday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange came under heavy selling pressure as investor sentiment remained fragile amid the absence of meaningful progress in ongoing United States-Iran negotiations, persistent geopolitical uncertainty, and elevated international crude oil prices. The benchmark KSE-100 Index lost 3,791.05 points, or 2.29%, to close at 161,805.02 points.
