Gujranwala emerges as best performing district of Punjab
Lahore comes at sixth position on the ranking
Gujranwala has topped the list of Punjab districts with best performance in various sectors, while Lahore is at the sixth position, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to the new classification of the provincial districts on the basis of their performances, marked improvement has been recorded in the performance of Multan and Rawalpindi, while Faisalabad and Sialkot have also been included in top five districts.
The reason why Lahore has stood on the sixth position is that there is a need for improvement in various sectors.
Lahore’s performance has been weak in terms of rising prices and non-completion of development projects.
Moreover, the steps aimed at controlling inflation and hoarding have also failed to produce the desired results.
However, improvement has been noticed in some sectors.
For instance, action is being taken against the manufacturers of spurious drugs and those violating the rules devised for wedding ceremonies.
Murree, Khanewal and Vehari too have shown good performance, while, on the other hand, deterioration has been noticed in the performance of Sahiwal, Sheikhupura and Bahawalpur.
