Kinza Hashmi recently shared a glimpse into her creative process on social media, emphasising her dedication to staying true to her character’s essence.
In a short clip she posted on Instagram, Kinza revealed that she had unfollowed the storyline but maintained the integrity of her character.
Kinza’s statement comes in the wake of fellow actress Mawra Hocane receiving praise for her reflective approach to drama selection and storytelling.
Mawra shared her philosophy that ratings and numbers alone do not guide her choices.
The actress recently posted an image bearing her statement: “If there’s a drama that promises numbers but will have zero impact, I would never pick it.”
She explained, “Context is everything. I was explicitly asked if I’d choose a drama with impact or numbers. Of course, I said impact – but honestly, the impact created is not my doing alone. It’s the genius of my directors, my writers, and producers. I can only pray and hope to get good scripts and the ability to make the right choices.”

Mawra acknowledged that not every project can replicate the success of her previous hits like Jafaa, Nauroz, or Jama Taqseem, but she remains committed to authenticity and continuous learning. She added, “I’m sure I’ll make mistakes; I’m sure every drama won’t be Jama Taqseem or Nauroz, but I’ll try. And I also hope to do some fun projects while I’m at it. Never say never.”
The actress also drew a clear boundary when it comes to compromising her values. She stated firmly, “The only thing I’ll never do is a project that’s detrimental to society, a gender, or a class – that’s all.”
Kinza Hashmi’s recent clip and Mawra Hocane’s reflections highlight a growing trend among actors: prioritising substance and character integrity over superficial metrics.
