Irfan Mehsood breaks another Guinness World record in finger-tip push-ups

Pakistani martial artist Irfan Mehsood has once again made the nation proud by breaking another Guinness World Record — this time in the category of finger-tip push-ups with weight, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.

Mehsood surpassed the previous record held by Norway’s Sverre Diesen, who completed 38 finger-tip push-ups in one minute, carrying 80 pounds.

The Pakistani athlete performed 42 push-ups in the same time under the same conditions, securing his latest world title.

This marks Mehsood’s 70th world record in various push-up categories, the highest by any athlete globally.

Over the years, he has achieved records with 100, 80, 60, and 40-pound weights, in addition to other fitness disciplines, including martial arts, push-ups, squats, step-ups, knee strikes, elbow strikes, high jumps, and star jumps.

Commenting on his achievements, Irfan Mehsood said he was honored to have received the Presidential Award for Excellence in 2023 and takes pride in being the first Pakistani to have achieved 150 Guinness World Records over the past nine years.

He also highlighted that 20 of his students have followed in his footsteps by setting their own Guinness World Records, further bringing international recognition to Pakistan.
