Virgin Atlantic to resume Pakistan flights under code-sharing with Saudi Airlines

British airline Virgin Atlantic has decided to resume flight operations for Pakistani passengers after nearly two years, aviation sources confirmed Friday.

According to details, Virgin Atlantic plans to restart services from October under a code-sharing arrangement with Saudi Airlines. Under the plan, Saudi Airlines will transport passengers from Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad to Riyadh, while Virgin Atlantic will operate onward flights from Riyadh to London and other UK destinations.

Virgin Atlantic had suspended its Pakistan operations in 2023, citing commercial reasons. However, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has now granted formal approval for the airline to re-enter the Pakistani market.

Aviation officials said the arrangement would provide Pakistani passengers with greater connectivity to the UK and beyond through a seamless travel experience with the two airlines.
