Man killed in firing inside Rajanpur courtroom

A man was killed and seven others were injured when gunmen opened fire inside the courtroom in Rajanpur on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court was in session and the additional session judge was presiding when the gunmen, disguised as Munshis of lawyers, barged into the courtroom and opened fire on their rivals.

Seven people were also seriously injured including two lawyers, four Munshis and a citizen.

The dead and the wounded, who had a long-running dispute with the attackers, were shifted to the DHQ Hospital.

The firing inside the courtroom has prompted the authorities to beef up security at the District Court and deploy a heavy contingent of police.
