FIA arrests culprit for illegally activating Sims

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime circle Islamabad Thursday arrested a culprit involved in the issuance of illegal Sims on an application from PTA, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

On the orders of FIA Additional Director Ayaz Khan, Inspector Fahad Altaf, along with his team arrested accused Usama Khan, who was allegedly involved in issuing illegal Sims from Rawat.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) requested activity against the alleged. He was involved in getting hundreds of Sims activated illegally.

Five Sim activation devices, 170 silicon thumbprints, 24 activated Sims, 16 ID cards and five mobile phones were recovered from the accused Usama Khan. A case under the PECA act has been filed against the alleged culprit and further investigation is ongoing.
