Kot Addu: Man arrested for molesting 13-year-old during Itikaf

The police arrested a suspect involved in the alleged rape of a 13-year-old child during Itekaf in Kot Addu Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to police officials, the suspect who allegedly raped the 13-year-old child during Aitekaf on April 2 was identified as a 28-year-old man who was on Itikaf (religious retreat) while the minor child was also in the same mosque for Itekaf.
While talking to police personnel, the victim said that during Itikaf the accused took him to bed and molested him with a hand on his face so that he couldn’t make noise.
According to police officials, the incident occurred at a relative's house in Multan, where the suspect was hiding himself.
A rape case has been registered against the accused for sexual assault in the complaint of the victim's father.
It is to be noted that he had fled from the scene after committing the heinous crime and swift action was taken on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The chief minister promptly took notice of the incident, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect.
Videos related to the incident have also gone viral on social media. The DNA sample of the arrested suspect has been sent to the forensic laboratory, while the medical examination of the child has also been conducted.
The police say that the culprit will be severely punished by issuing an investigation report in the light of forensic reports and evidence.
