Ambassador of Indonesia Adam Mulawarman Tugio called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his residence here on Monday and discussed issues of mutual interest, including the political situation in the country and measures to prevent coronavirus spread.

Ahmad Firman Sejati, Syarif Shahabuddin and Mr. Maludi were part of the Malaysian delegation. Talking to the delegation, Parvez Elahi said he set up industrial estates in Faisalabad under the name of Garments City and FIEDMC and Sundar Industrial Estate in Lahore to provide facilities to industrialists and businessmen. 

He said that Overseas Pakistanis were playing an important role in the development of Indonesia and the two countries were bound in the line of Islamic brotherhood. He said there was a need to increase the public relations campaign between the two countries. He said that he was grateful to the Indonesian government for taking care of the overseas Pakistanis during the coronavirus epidemic. He said that friendly relations between the two countries had always been strong and growing stronger day by day.

The speaker of the Punjab Assembly said that timely steps were being taken to control the coronavirus epidemic in Pakistan, where the situation was better than other countries.

Thanking Parvez Elahi, the Indonesian ambassador said that a lot of work was done in Punjab during his tenure as chief minister and it was commendable. He said that Pakistan always expressed its love for Indonesia. He appreciated the efforts of Parvez Elahi that paved the way for victory of Senate candidates unopposed in Punjab.

Later, Parvez Elahi presented honorary shields to the distinguished guests.
