Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah phoned his Punjab counterpart Usman Buzdar for removing obstacles as the Pakistan People Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-led march made it to Punjab, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the Sindh CM told his Punjab counterpart that the provincial admin was creating hurdles and even the media vehicles were barred from covering the event.

The Punjab police placed obstacles, Murad told Buzdar and made a request for issuing a directive to resolve the issue. The Punjab chief minister assured his Sindh counterpart of clearing the hurdles.

A spokesman for Bilawal Bhutto issued a statement to condemn the Punjab admin’s measures to create hurdles. The statement added: “We strongly condemn the closure of Punjab entry points and register a protest against such undemocratic steps. The Pakistan People’s Party believes in peaceful protests, but it is no longer possible to stop the people's march. Therefore, the administration is requested to perform its duties and refrain from becoming the tool of the anti-democratic puppets.”

PPP leader Shazia Murree too denounced the Punjab admin’s attempt to bar the PPP march.  She claimed that the Punjab Police closed the venue of a public meeting in Bahadurpur Chowk and the media personnel were also barred from going to the venue, she said, stressing that the PTI should refrain from such steps.

Later, the caravan led by Bilawal Bhutto reached the venue stage in Rahim Yar Khan and received a welcome with political passion.

The Bilawal-led march began from the city of Quaid, Karachi, three days ago and it would culminate in the federal capital, Islamabad, the city of power.

On the fourth day, the marchers moved from Sindh’s Sukkur district where the supporters and workers of PPP gave a rousing welcome and joined their leadership to move along with them.

The Jiyals of Punjab capital have braced for according a warm welcome to the marchers in Lahore. They made a special song in the Punjabi language to be played on the arrival of the leadership.
