Parvez Elahi calls for fixing wheat support price at Rs2,000 per 40kg

Acting Punjab Governor Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Sunday called for fixing the wheat support price at Rs2,000 per 40 kilograms.

He was talking to PML-N office-bearers from Narowal, former Tehsil Nazim of Shakkargarh Chaudhry Mohammad Ahmad Shanghran and Tehrik Labbaik candidate Nasir Chohan who called on him and Senator Kamil Ali Agha at their residence on Sunday. The visitors announced joining the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) along with their colleagues.

On this occasion, Afzaal Virk Rana, Rana Iftikhar, Nasir Iqbal Khan, Malik Shakeel Awan Advocate, Younus Malik, Mohammad Shehzad Advocate, Salman Qureshi Advocate and Makhdoom Naseem Advocate were also present.

Parvez Elahi said that wheat price should be fixed at Rs2,000 per 40 kilograms. He said thanks to the Sindh government for implementing this wheat support price and the MNAs who raised voice for fixing the wheat support price at Rs2,000.

The acting governor said that currently the wheat price in the market is Rs2,400 per 40 kilograms. He said that prosperity of Pakistan was linked to the prosperity of farmers.
