Shehbaz Sharif destroyed Child Protection Bureau: Ch Parvez Elahi

Chairperson, Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Sarah Ahmad called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi at his residence Friday and sought his guidance for betterment of the institution.

Ch Parvez Elahi said the work of Child Protection Bureau was stopped and destroyed during 10 years of Shehbaz Sharif, which was started again under leadership of Sarah Ahmad and there has been improvement.

He said arrangement should also be made for children studying in the Bureau for education up to graduation and afterwards provision of employment.

He said often when he saw children begging on roads then I felt great sorrow.

“It was my desire that if Almighty Allah provided me with the opportunity then I will do something for these children. When I became the Chief Minister then I established Child Protection and Welfare Bureau for these children and got 14 such gangs apprehended who used to force children into begging. I got arranged program every year regularly in this institution, and the UNICEF has also appreciated our effort.”

Chairperson Sarah Ahmad said that this institutionm which was established by Ch Parvez Elahi, was badly destroyed by Shehbaz Sharif and now again she was moving forward with the vision of Ch Parvez Elahi.

She said that taking advantage of the experience of Ch Parvez Elahi she wants to continue working for giving a better future to these children of the society and development of the institution.

Afterwards, Ch Parvez Elahi presented an honorary shield to Chairperson Sarah Ahmad.
