K-Electric seeks 5.27/unit rise in power tariff

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) is all set to hear the plea of K-Electric seeking an increase of Rs5.27 per unit in power tariff on account of fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for March this year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Nepra Chairman will hear on the K-electric request on April 27. With the approval by the Nepra, consumers will bear the Rs8.59 billion cost.
Earlier, The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on the other hand raised the power tariff by Rs4.8 per unit on account of fuel adjustment for the month of February.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested the power regulator to allow an increase of Rs4.9441 per unit to burden the power consumers with an impact of Rs38.4 billion.
