Dua Lipa opens up about ‘intensely falling’ for Callum Turner in rare interview

Dua Lipa has shared rare insight into her romance with fiancé Callum Turner, revealing she has “intensely fallen” for the actor as she embraces love with new vulnerability.

The pop star, 29, spoke candidly about her relationship during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar US for its Global Icons issue, alongside a glamorous photoshoot.

Reflecting on her journey, Dua admitted she is allowing herself to be open to love, even if it risks heartbreak.

“I love love. It is a beautiful thing. It’s a really inspiring thing. You find yourself so intensely falling all the time in the best way possible,” she said. “That vulnerability is so scary, but I feel so lucky to get to feel it. I’ve spent a lot of time being guarded, but now I’m letting go and just allowing love.”

The Dance the Night hitmaker and Turner first sparked romance rumours in January 2024 after being spotted at a Masters of the Air afterparty in London. They confirmed their relationship later that summer and announced their engagement a year later, over Christmas 2024.

Opening up further, Dua said: “I’m happier than ever, so it feels like I’m doing a disservice by not talking about it. When you’re a public person, anything that’s personal is vulnerable but it’s not like I don’t want to share it.”

She confirmed their engagement with excitement, describing it as a “decision to grow old together” and calling Turner her “best friend forever.”

The chart-topper also spoke about her future family plans, admitting she would “love to have kids one day” but remains unsure how motherhood would fit around her demanding career. “It’s one of those things that will happen when it happens,” she explained.

As for their wedding, Dua revealed the couple is in no rush, with her world tour and Callum’s filming schedule taking priority. “I’ve never been someone who dreamt about a wedding, but suddenly I’m like, ‘Oh, what would I wear?’” she said, adding that she is “obsessed” with her engagement ring.

Reflecting on how fate brought them together, Dua recalled meeting Turner years earlier at London’s River Café and later crossing paths again in Los Angeles. “One thousand per cent, I think it was meant to be,” she said.
