Two dacoits killed in Mian Channu encounter

Two dacoits were gunned down and one policeman received critical injuries in a police encounter in Mian Channu, while another dacoit was arrested in an injured condition in Faisalabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The first police encounter took place near the National Highway in Mian Channu, in which two dacoits were killed during a heavy exchange of fire between the Crime Control Department (CCD) team and the dacoits.

Later, the dead dacoits were identified as Saqib 32, and Asif was 35. The accomplices of the dacoits escaped from the scene.

In the second police encounter on Bora Road, one dacoit, Fayyaz, became seriously injured after receiving gunshots. 

Soon after receiving the report, the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead bodies and injured dacoit to the Civil Hospital in Mian Channu.

The Chemist and Druggists Association Mian Channu also announced a shutter down strike in the city due to an alarming rise in robbery and snatching incidents.

In another police encounter in Faisalabad, one dacoit was arrested in an injured condition, Chak No. 598-GB, in the jurisdiction of Kurkey Police Station.

A police team signaled the accused, who were riding a motorcycle, to stop but the accused started firing on the police team.

In retaliation firing by the police, one accused became seriously injured and his five accomplices escaped from the scene.

The injured accused was identified as Imtiaz, who was a resident of Okara. Police said that the injured dacoit was a police record holder and wanted in several serious criminal cases.
