Armed forces pay tribute to Rashid Minhas on 55th martyrdom anniversary

Pakistan’s military leadership and armed forces on Thursday paid tribute to Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, on his 55th martyrdom anniversary, honouring his sacrifice in defence of the country.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu joined the armed forces in commemorating the anniversary.

The ISPR said Rashid Minhas displayed exceptional courage, resolve and devotion to duty on August 20, 1971, making the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and honour.

His sacrifice remains an enduring example of courage, loyalty and commitment to the defence of the country, the military’s media wing said.

The people and armed forces of Pakistan paid homage to Rashid Minhas and reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests.

The ISPR said his legacy would continue to inspire the nation and its armed forces as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, patriotism and devotion to duty.
