NDC writes PM, CJP to ensure shifting of Imran Khan to hospital

The National Dialogue Committee (NDC) has written to Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi, urging them to ensure implementation of the Supreme Court’s (SC) order concerning the transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital.

According to 24NewsHD TV, the NDC appealed to the prime minister and chief justice to ensure that the Supreme Court order was implemented and that appropriate medical facilities were provided to Imran Khan.

The committee also called for access to Imran Khan’s personal physicians, family members and lawyers. In the letter, the NDC requested the prime minister and chief justice to play a role in improving the political environment in the country.

The National Dialogue Committee is an informal political group mainly made up of former PTI leaders, including Fawad Chaudhry, Imran Ismail and Mehmood Moulvi. The group was formed around late 2025 and has promoted political dialogue, national consensus and confidence-building measures.

The NDC has also advocated broader political reforms and discussions on administrative restructuring. However, PTI leadership and incarcerated party figures have distanced themselves from the committee and said it does not have an official mandate to negotiate on behalf of the party.

The latest letter comes amid continuing discussion over the Supreme Court’s order regarding Imran Khan’s medical treatment and transfer to hospital.
