Back on track: Awam Express service resuming tomorrow

The Pakistan Railways is all set to resume the Awam Express service between Karachi and Peshawar, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

As the floods damaged the track of Awam Express last year,  the authorities shut the service, adding to the problems confronting the Karachi-Peshawar passengers.

The authorities have restored the train track and the service will resume on December 20 (tomorrow). The restoration took one year and five months.

The credit for service restoration is being given to Railways Minister Shahid Ashraf Tarar, CEO Aamir Baloch, DS Nasir Khalili and DCO Saba Jabeen.

The Awam Express, consisting of 18 coaches offering economy and business classes, will leave Karachi.

It will reach Peshawar via Hyderabad Kotri, Rohri, Nawabshah, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and Lala Musa.
