Kohat Police, security forces launch large-scale operation against terrorists in Lower Kurram

A major joint operation by police and security forces is underway in Bagan, Mandori, Uchhat, and surrounding areas of Lower Kurram to combat terrorism and restore peace, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Kohat, Abbas Majeed Marwat, is personally overseeing the operation, which has already led to the arrest of 18 terrorists and 2 facilitators.  

The operation was launched in response to a recent attack on a convoy heading to Kurram, where terrorists looted and burned food supplies. Yesterday, the terrorists also targeted the convoy of the Commandant Kurram-militia, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of several security personnel.  

RPO Abbas Majeed Marwat stated that raids are being conducted in Kurram, Hangu, and Kohat to apprehend terrorists who have been identified by the provincial government.

The operation includes house-to-house searches in the affected areas and a thorough search of the border mountainous regions of Kurram and Hangu to capture wanted terrorists.
