FIA arrests two in Rawalpindi over overseas job scam

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Human Trafficking Cell conducted operations in Rawalpindi and arrested two suspects allegedly involved in defrauding citizens under the pretext of arranging overseas employment.

According to FIA officials, raids were carried out in the Waris Khan and Eidgah areas of Rawalpindi, where agents were reportedly running scams in the name of securing jobs abroad.

During the operation in Waris Khan, the agency arrested a suspect identified as Muhammad Aqib. He is accused of receiving Rs1.335 million from a citizen on the promise of arranging a Canadian work permit. Officials said the suspect later returned the complainant’s passport but allegedly misappropriated the amount.

In a separate raid in the Eidgah area, the FIA apprehended another suspect, Kamran Tariq, who is accused of defrauding a citizen of Rs700,000 on similar grounds.

Both suspects have been shifted to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) Rawalpindi for further investigation.

The FIA has urged citizens seeking employment opportunities abroad to exercise caution and verify the credentials of agents before making any payments.
