Billie Eilish teams up with Avatar director James Cameron for 3D tour movie

Billie Eilish stunned fans at her sold-out Manchester concert by revealing a surprise collaboration with Oscar-winning director James Cameron for an upcoming 3D concert movie.

The 23-year-old singer broke the news during her performance over the weekend, teasing that audiences might’ve noticed “a few extra cameras” in the venue. She went on to hint at a special project with the Titanic and Avatar filmmaker, saying: “I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron, and it’s going to be in 3D.”

Eilish added that fans attending the Manchester shows would be part of the filming, and jokingly warned that she might wear the same outfit for several days of shooting.

This upcoming project will mark the Grammy winner’s third venture into concert films, following Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry and Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles, both released in 2021.

The collaboration with Cameron, whose films have earned over $8 billion worldwide, is expected to deliver a cinematic, immersive experience for Eilish’s fans who couldn't attend the concerts in person.

The announcement comes during her Hit Me Hard and Soft world tour, and shortly after she enforced a 100% vegan food policy at her London O2 Arena shows, a move that received mixed reactions from concertgoers. Some attendees praised the climate-conscious decision, while others criticised the limited menu despite the premium ticket prices.
