Punjab Assembly panel gives Kasur DPO one week to answer show-cause notice

The Punjab Assembly’s Parliamentary Judicial Committee on Monday granted Kasur District Police Officer Aftab Phularwan one week to submit his response to a show-cause notice.

The committee met under the chairmanship of MPA Sardar Owais Dareshak, with Phularwan appearing before the panel.

Sheikhupura Regional Police Officer Athar Ismail and Additional Inspector General Shahzad Sultan also attended the meeting in their supervisory capacities.

Committee member Pir Ashraf Rasool said the DPO had sought additional time to file his reply, which the panel accepted.

The committee will meet again next Monday to take up the matter after receiving the response.

Members Rahila Khadim Hussain, Syed Zulfiqar Shah, Raja Shaukat Aziz Bhatti and Pir Ashraf Rasool were among those who participated in the proceedings.
