Petroleum levy on high-speed diesel rises by Rs19.71

The federal government announced to decrease the levy on petrol while the levy on high-speed diesel (HSD) is hiked by Rs19.71 per liter, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Now the levy on high-speed diesel is fixed at Rs72.97 per liter. Before this, Rs53.26 were being charged as petroleum levy on high-speed diesel. The levy on petrol was dropped by Rs40.49 per litre.
Now the petroleum levy on petrol is fixed at Rs66.25 per litre. Before this, Rs106.74 were being charged as levy on petrol.
The implementation of the new levy rates will start today.
