Shehbaz Sharif makes telephonic contact with Bilawal on March 25 session issue; Opposition’s steering committee decides to call constitutional experts meeting

Opposition parties have decided to take up the matter of delay in calling the National Assembly session on the no-confidence motion in the Supreme Court.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, this decision was taken by the Opposition’s steering committee in a meeting held on Sunday at the residence of its convenor Akhtar Mengal in Islamabad.

While Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif also made a telephonic contact with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to discuss the issues related to the motion especially the March 25 session.

The sources said that the steering committee meeting was attended by Sherry Rehman, Naveed Qamar, Ayaz Sadiq, Shahida Akhtar Ali, Zahid Hamid and others.

The committee expressed concern over the convening of the National Assembly on March 25 and called an urgent meeting of its legal team tonight.

The committee said that the Speaker National Assembly has deviated from the constitution.

The meeting decided to increase meetings with the government’s allies as well as the renegade members of the treasury benches in the National Assembly.
