Nomination papers of Swati, Murad Saeed, Sanam Javed for Senate elections rejected

Zulfi Bukhari, Irfan Daha's nomination also rejected; ECP accepts nominations of PTI/SIC's Dr Yasmin Rashid, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Hamid Khan, Waleed Iqbal; Nomination papers of Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi also accepted

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Wednesday rejected the nomination papers of the prominent leaders and former ministers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) including Azam Swati and Murad Saeed for the Senate election scheduled on April 02, 2024.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the secrutiny process of the nomination papers filed for the Senate elections was continued in the ECP as per its schedule.
The channel reported that the nomination papers of eight candidates for the technocrat seat in the Senate were declared valid while the papers of PTI leader Azam Swati for the same seat were rejected.
The ECP also approved the nomination papers of 16 candidates including Niaz Ahmed and a son of Nawaz League's Amir Muqam for general seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
While the nomination papers of PTI leader Murad Saeed, former Chief Minsiter Mehmood Khan and Khurram Zeeshan were rejected.
The ECP also accepted the nomination papers of six female candidates for the reserved seats for women.

The ECP rejected the namination papers of detained PTI backed Sunni Ittehad Council's (SIC) Sanam Javed Khan, Zulfi Bukhari and Irfan Daha while the nomination papers of Dr Yasmin Rashid, Waleed Iqbal, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Hamid Khan, and Raja Nasir Abbas were approved.
Sanam Javed had submitted her nomination papers for the reserved seat for women in the Senate. Her nominations were rejected due to not providing the required documents to the Returning Officer Ijaz Chohan on the objections.
The nomination papers of Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari known as Zulfi Bukhari for the general seat were also rejected. Objection was raised on the suspicious signature of Zulfi Bukhari's nomination papers.
The nomination papers of Mian Najibuddin Awaisi, Khawaja Habib-ur-Rahman and Irfan Ahmad Khan Daha for the general seat were rejected.
The nomination papers of Tariq Javed for the minority seat and the nomination papers of Soraya Naseem for the reserved seat for women were also rejected.
On the other hand, the ECP accepted the nomination papers of the PTI leaders including Waleed Iqbal, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Hamid Khan, Raja Nasir Abbas, and Dr Yasmin Rashid.
For the general seats, the ECP approved the nomination papers of Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Ahad Khan Cheema, Talal Badr Chaudhary, Ejaz Hussain Minhas, Shahzad Wasim, Pervaiz Rasheed, Nasir Mahmood Butt, Musadik Masood Malik. For the technocrate seat, the ECP approved the nomination papers of Dr Yasmin Rashid, Mohammad Aurangzeb, Musadik Masood Malik and Mustafa Ramday .
Nomination papers of Anusha Rehman, Bushra Anjum Butt and Faiza Ahmed Malik for reserved seats for women and the nomination papers of Khalil Tahir Sindhu and Asif Ashiq Bhatti for a reserved seat for minority were approved by the ECP.
