Security forces Wednesday successfully thwarted an attempted attack on the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Complex, eliminating all eight terrorists involved in the assault, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The militants, identified as members of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), sought to breach the GPA Complex in a brazen act of terrorism.

According to sources, the BLA terrorists attempted to infiltrate the GPA Complex in Gwadar, presumably aiming to wreak havoc and cause destruction.

Their nefarious plans were swiftly intercepted by the vigilant security forces, who responded with decisive action to neutralise the threat.

A large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from the killed terrorists.

Meanwhile, security officials have cordoned off the area surrounding the GPA Complex as they work to secure the premises and ensure the safety of residents and personnel.

Balochistan's port city Gwadar was jolted by a suspected terrorist attack marked by a deafening blast followed by sustained gunfire echoing through its streets.

Initial reports indicate that the blast occurred within close proximity to the GPA complex, sending security personnel scrambling to the scene within moments.

Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation remain determined to thwart attempts of sabotaging peace and stability of Balochistan, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve, the ISPR statement added..
