Pakistan’s IT exports surge 19 percent in Feb 2025
A major success of Pakistan's Information Technology sector as the IT sector exports recorded an annual increase of 19 percent in February 2025, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to a report released by State Bank of Pakistan, country's IT sector exports were recorded at $305 million in February 2025 while in February 2024, the IT sector exports were $257 million.
The report said that for the 17th consecutive month, IT sector exports are improving as IT sector exports increased by 26 percent in the first 8 months of the current fiscal year.
IT sector exports exceeded $2.48 billion in the first 8 months of the current fiscal year while in the previous fiscal year, IT sector exports were $1.978 billion.
The dollar inflow from IT sector exports was $1.61 million per day while in January 2025, IT exports dollar inflow was 13.6 million dollars per day.
Increase in IT exports means Pakistan is gaining access to new markets. Pakistan's IT sector has also increased its reach in Gulf countries. The stability in the value of the rupee has also improved, report said.
