Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar Thursday approved an increase in salaries of government employees with a 25 percent special allowance, reported 24News HD TV channel.

As per details, the CM rejected the suggestion of a 10 to 15 percent special allowance for the employees of the provincial government.

While chairing a meeting in this regard, the CM advised a 25 percent special allowance for the employees. 721,000 employees of Punjab Government from Grade 1 to 19 will be given a special allowance.

However, the employees, who have already gotten the allowance, would not be eligible for the special allowance. The allowance will be included in the salaries for the month of June.

The CM said the employees were the strength of the government and the government always kept their financial issues under consideration. He said the employees would get good news in the upcoming budget as well.
