Pakistan Rangers and Sindh Police recently conducted a joint operation and arrested Darvesh, a member of the banned Baloch militant organization, from the Lyari area of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV on Tuesday.

Darvesh, who goes by the alias ‘Sagar’, is a resident of Lyari and was arrested along with weapons, ammunition, and even hand grenades.

The accused joined the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) in 2015. Later, in 2018, he allegedly became part of a group run by outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) operative, Farooq Baloch.

Authorities claimed Darvesh, along with his associates, has been involved in facilitating the operations of banned organizations such as the BLA and the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF). In his role as the front man for Hayam Baloch, an active member of Baloch Missing Persons group, he is alleged to have worked alongside Hayam to facilitate the suicide bombing carried out by Mahal Baloch.

He is a known associate of Farooq Baloch, Majeed (alias Baba), Faraz (alias Ganj), Nasir and Shahzad Zikri, and other members of Baloch militant organizations who have carried out terrorist attacks against security forces in Balochistan and Sindh. He also has ties to Pervez Zikri and Zafar (alias Mama Jaffer) who were killed by security forces during the Express Train attack.

The accused has allegedly been involved in providing safe haven to known terrorists as well as supporting the funding efforts of these illegal organizations by receiving money through hawala hundi and distributing it directly to them.

Additionally, the accused has also been involved in spreading anti-Pakistan and anti-security forces messages on social media.

According to a Sindh Rangers spokesman, Darvesh has reportedly been handed over to the police alongside the confiscated weapons and ammunition and is awaiting further legal action.
