Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faiz Isa has sought action against the administration of the International Islamic University (IIU) over mismanagement, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Isa wrote letters to President Dr Arif Alvi, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman and Federal Ministry of Education on Monday, a copy of the notelet has also been sent to the Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court and the university administration.
In his letter, the Chief Justice of Pakistan wrote that the International Islamic University has lost international standards due to mismanagement. He said due to years of mismanagement, Islamic values have also disappeared at the educational facility.
Justice Isa said “The president has called a meeting of board of members on November 30 i.e., after three years following my request.”
The CJP added: “The vice president of the university, Nabi Bakhsh Jumani, has not even replied to my two letters related to the administration of the university on September 22 and October 13”.
He said that no response to the letters is regrettable and it shows if the vice president wants to cover up the wrongdoings.
The CJP raised objection regarding the appointment of Nabi Bakhsh that he was appointed for three years but he is still in office.
He demanded that the board of trustees should convene a meeting to review the administrative matters of the university. The appointment of the vice president and his letters should also be placed before the meeting, he added.
