Pakistan Women’s Blind Cricket Team storm into World Cup semis with 129-run win over Australia

The Pakistan Women’s Blind Cricket Team booked their place in the semi-finals of the inaugural Blind Women’s T20 World Cup with a comprehensive 129-run victory over Australia in Colombo, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday. 

Batting first in their fourth league match, Pakistan produced a formidable total of 298 for 2 in the allotted 20 overs.

Mehreen Ali led the charge with a brilliant 133-run knock, while Bushra Ashraf contributed 59.

Maryam Jahangir and Ramsha Shabbir added 13 and 12 runs, respectively.

Chasing an imposing target of 299, Australia finished on 169 for 5, falling well short despite an impressive unbeaten 95 from Kertneri Lys.

Mehreen Ali also shone with the ball for Pakistan, claiming two wickets.

Pakistan will play their final league match against the United States tomorrow (Thursday) as they continue their strong campaign.

Earlier in the tournament, the Pakistan–India fixture earned widespread appreciation as players from both sides shook hands after the match, showcasing exemplary sportsmanship.
