Anti-polio campaign kicks off across country

The countrywide polio campaign started today (Monday) aiming at immunizing 40 million children. The tots will also be given additional dose of Vitamin E, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Coordinator polio eradication programme Dr Shahzad Beg said that the polio campaign was kicked off across the country and as many as 40 million toddlers would be administered polio drops. He said besides polio drops, the kids would be given additional Vitamin E doses.
Dr Beg was of the view that effective measures should be adopted for the success of the campaign. He informed that the polio immunization campaign had been underway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since Sept 17.
He claimed that no case of polio had been reported from Islamabad for the last 7 months. He called upon parents to make sure that their children were administered polio drops.
Dr Beg exhorted people belonging to all schools of thought to cooperate with the government for the success of the immunization programme.
He said parents could contact on phone # 1166 to register their complaints and remove their doubts.
