Sindh Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday arrested a man in Karachi who it claimed belonged to a Lyari gang, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The CTD officials told the media that Mairaj belonged to the Baba Sohail group, active in the Lyari gang war.

Lyari locality of the port city has been making headlines in newspapers for the last several years due to frequent clashes between different rival groups. However, presently there is relative calm in the area.

However, the operation launched by the law-enforcement agencies (LEAs), particularly after the massacre of children at Army Public School in Peshawar, considerably brought down the level of violence in the city, making lives rather convenient for the people.
