The Islamabad High Court has set aside a petition challenging the appointment of Intelligence Bureau Director-General Dr Suleman Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court released a detailed judgement of the case on Monday. As per the IHC ruling, it’s the sole prerogative of the prime minister to appoint the director-general of the Intelligence Bureau.

The detailed judgement was released by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minullah.

According to the ruling, since the petitioner had been removed from the Intelligence Bureau office, his petition was not worthy to be heard.

The Prime minister is the elected chief executive of the country and he is answerable to the people, the IHC wrote in the verdict.

The Constitution bars judiciary from interfering in executive affairs. The IHC respects the decision of the prime minister regarding appointment on an important public office, the judgement concluded.
