10 more die in floods: NDMA

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Tuesday reported that 10 more people died in floods across the country.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, four children and two women were among the dead and the total number of deaths across the country has reached 1,569, including 320 women and 555 children.
The report stated 701 people died in Sindh, 306 in KP and 300 in Balochistan and more than 50,000 houses were damaged across the country in twenty-four hours.
So far 12 lakh 8 thousand 161 houses have been partially damaged across the country, the authority said, adding that a total of 801,633 houses have been completely destroyed since June 14
A total of 998,407 cattle have been lost and 84 districts were affected by rains and floods across the country.
The flood survivors have been facing food and health issues. The World Health Organization (WHO) has said the surge in diseases has the potential for a second disaster.
In Sindh, the region worst hit by the floods, the provincial government said nine people died of gastroenteritis, acute diarrhoea and suspected malaria yesterday.
Over 2.7 million people have been treated for water-borne diseases at makeshift or mobile hospitals set up in flood-hit regions since July 1, it said, with 72,000 people treated at these facilities on Monday alone. Sindh Health Minister Azra Pechuho urged people to adopt safety measures against vector-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue.
