Chief Justice of Pakistan has remarked that the Supreme Court stands for the supremacy of Constitution saying that the court will not be dismayed by criticism as long as there are upholders of the Constitution, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial delivered these remarks on Thursday while hearing the presidential reference seeking interpretation of Article 63-A. He was heading a five-judge larger bench of the apex court which also comprised Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Mazhar Alam, Justice Muneeb Akhtar and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel.

During hearing, CJP Bandial remarked that the court did not mind criticism and ‘doors of this court are also open for the critics’. We will continue serving country no matter what other people think about us, he said adding that it was duty of the court to do justice with all.

The CJP said that those who criticized court verdicts, they must have been hurt. But, he lamented, that self-control and tolerance was on the wane among people.
