1,000-acre park to be built at Margalla foothills in Islamabad, says Mohsin Naqvi

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday said that a park, spreading over 1,000 acres of land, would be developed at the foothills of Margalla in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Chairing a meeting at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters, the minister said that the goal was to transform the federal capital into a city where people could be provided recreational opportunities and other facilities at par with other countries. “Five-star hotels will be built in the city in collaboration with firms of international repute,” he informed.

The meeting also reviewed the progress made on the construction of a five-star hotel in collaboration with the EOBI.

It was decided that the Survey of Pakistan would conduct a complete survey of the federal capital’s territory and properties.

Naqvi, on the occasion, ordered the formation of a marketing team for all auctions which would be held in future so that more and more investors could participate in bidding.

The meeting decided that a control room of the Capital Emergency Services would be housed in Safe City.

Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf, who gave a detailed briefed to the meeting on developments projects initiated in the city, said that all record of the Authority was being digitalized.

He informed that all unnecessary posts in CDA would be abolished.

Members of CDA, additional deputy commissioner Islamabad, and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
