80s hit TV serial ‘Ankahi’ to be performed on stage

Famous 80s television serial ‘Ankahi’ is all set to enthrall the public on the local theatre. Written by famous playwright Hasina Moin, the serial will be performed on stage on Oct 20 at Karachi Arts Council. 150 artists are expected to work on the production.
Speaking at the press conference, Hasina Moin said: “The aim of bringing back this serial is to send a message to the new generation that we all need love in this age. Adding on, she noted that unless the hatred in our hearts is eradicated we cannot move forward. She emphasized that today, this story is being re-told to spread the same message.”
Ankahi is a drama serial broadcast by (PTV) in 1982. It was written by Haseena Moin and directed by Shoaib Mansoor and Mohsin Ali.
The drama serial featured an ensemble star cast including Shehnaz Sheikh, Shakeel, Javed Sheikh, Saleem Nasir, Jamshed Ansari, Behroze Sabzwari, Badar Khalil, Qazi Wajid, Azra Mansoor, Khalid Nizami, Arshad Mehmood, Tabassum Farooqui and Faisal Bilal.
It was one of the most popular drama serials in the early 1980s in Pakistan. This cast had then gone on to work in a similar Pakistani drama serial Tanhaiyaan in 1986.
