India catches pigeon carrying ‘bomb blast’ threat message

Occupied Jammu Railway Station was put on alert after a pigeon was caught near the India-Pakistan international border, with a note threatening an “IED blast", Indian media reported on Thursday.

India’s Border Security Force caught the pigeon in the Khatmarian area of RS Pura with a paper tied to its leg.

The paper tied to the pigeon read, “Jammu Station IED Blast".

The BSF informed the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Police about the threat message, after which an alert was issued at the railway station.

The incident comes days after the security forces caught a suspicious pigeon in the border area on August 18. The bird was spotted by a patrol team in suspicious circumstances near Forward Defence Post-69, close to Kathmaria BOP, under the 07 Battalion of the BSF, The Daily Jagran reported.

The slip that was recovered had messages written in both Urdu and English. It read: “Kashmir Hamara Hai" (Kashmir is ours), “Waqt Aa Gaya Hai, Aa Jayega" (The time has come, it will come), and “Jammu Station IED Blast", the report said.

The BSF and other security agencies were investigating whether the pigeon flew on the Indian side from across the border.–news18.com
