Punjab govt challenges PTI leaders bail decision in LHC

Punjab government has decided to challenge Anti Terrorism Court’s bail decision to PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Sarfaraz Cheema in Lahore high court, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

PTI leaders were granted bail in Shadman police station attack case on May 9. Now the Punjab government has approachedd Lahore High Court through the Prosecutor General of Punjab. 

Punjab government has requested LHC that ATC decision to grant bail to Omer Sarfaraz Cheema and Shah Mehmood Qureshi should be declared null and void as both PTI leaders as 768 PTI leaders and workers including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Omer Sarfaraz Cheema were involved in Shadman police station attack case. 

The police had registered the case against the accused on charges of assault, vandalism and other offences. The ATC granted bail to Shah Mehmood Qureshi on June 21, 2025.
