Pakistan reports 1,792 new virus cases with 62 deaths

Pakistan reported 1,792 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.

There were 62 more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 9,392 that represents a ratio of 2%.

According to the latest figures, 1,792 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 34,772 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 458,968 that returned positive after conducting 6,336,113 total tests so far.

The number of active cases in the country reached 40,491 with 2,403 patients in critical condition.

There were 1,680 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 409,085 with an 89.1% recovery rate.

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 505 new cases in last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 131,933 with 8,297 active cases. The province reported 34 new virus-related death as the death toll reached 3,638. With 101 new recoveries, 119,998 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

The most affected province Sindh has once again recorded 737 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 204,840 with 20,777 active cases. The province reported 14 new deaths as the death toll reached 3,333. With 950 new recoveries, 180,730 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 235 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 55,183 with 4,516 active cases. The province reported 10 new virus-related death as the death toll reached 1,546. With 218 new recoveries, 49,121 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan has recorded another 17 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 17,926 with 375 active cases. The province reported no new virus-related death as the death toll remains at 179. With 63 new recoveries, 17,372 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad has recorded 140 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 36,257 with 5,493 active cases. Two new deaths were reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 391. With 237 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 30,373 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 41 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 8,002 with 922 active cases. With 2 new deaths reported, the death toll reached at 206. There were 111 new recoveries in the AJK as 6,874 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded five new cases during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 4,827 with 111 active cases. With no new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 99. There were no new recovery reported as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,617.
