The head of an anti-polio team was tortured and his clothes were torn for administering anti-polio drops to children in the area and motivating the attacker to vaccinate his kids against the crippling disease.

According to police, the incident occurred in Theratwala area of Shujabad, a tehsil of District Multan, situation some 45km in the south from the district headquarters. The police said that Nazar Muhammad, In-charge anti-polio team, was tortured by a culprit identified as Waqas who also tore his clothes. The accused flared up when Nazar attempted to motivate him to vaccinating his children against polio. The Shujabad City Police have registered a case against the accused who made good his escape from the scene. The police officers said that the culprit will be nicked soon.
