LHC to increase judges’ seats to decide pending cases

In view of increasing number of pending cases, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has decided to increase the number of seats for judges, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Sources told 24News that in view of the expected increase in the judges’ seats, the high court had also decided to build 40 more courtrooms for which there was a plan to build 11-storey administration block which would replace the old structure.
Earlier, the block had been built to house the office of advocate general.
Punjab Assembly Speaker and PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, who was the Punjab chief minister in 2004, had inaugurated the block.
