30kg silver worth Rs48 million seized at Torkham border crossing

Pakistani customs personnel seized 30 kilograms of silver worth approximately Rs48 million during an operation at Torkham crossing on the Pak-Afghan border.

According to customs officials, the recovery was made during a search at the import terminal from a truck arriving from Afghanistan. The silver was reportedly concealed inside the tyres of the vehicle in an attempt to smuggle it across the border.

Officials said the truck had returned to Pakistan carrying an Afghan family when the hidden silver was discovered during inspection. The recovered silver, along with the truck, has been taken into custody by customs authorities for further legal proceedings.
