Two children among five killed as strong winds lash Karachi

Five people, including two children, were killed while several others were injured after strong winds lashed Karachi on Friday afternoon, blowing away rooftops and causing the walls to collapse in different areas of the city, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The fatalities were reported from Sher Shah Gulbai, North Nazimabad, Orangi and North Karachi areas of the provincial capital.
Farman, a child who had got seriously injured after a wall fell on him in Orangi Town, finally breathed his last at Jinnah Hospital.
Similarly, in another incident of wall collapse, Abdur Rehman, a seven-year-old child, was killed at Kaneez Fatima Society of Surjani Town.
Likewise, a man was killed when a wall fell on him in North Nazimabad.
Two more people lost their lives in similar incidents in Gulbai and Gulshane Maimar areas of the port city.
Winds created a lot of problems for the motorists, especially for the bike riders, whose bikes even swayed with the winds.
However, not everybody was experiencing inconvenience as a large number of people flocked to the beach to enjoy the weather.
